The Host
At the heart of Edworth Manor is the 1,000 acre farm, which produces farm-assured wheat, barley, pulses and oilseeds. The Manor features in the Domesday Book and has been in the same family for over 200 years. The Smythes are a lovely family, not only do they farm they also hire out there fabulous barn for privates, weddings and now End of Summer Barney Festival.
The Organiser
Christy and the Smythes go way back from sharing lifts to school together over 20 years ago. Now grown up and sharing common ground in events they are putting on a small local family friendly event with big personality. Bringing different sets of qualities and experience, they will put one hell of a show on!
One YMCA Charity
We are delighted to announce that One YMCA is the official charity partner of End of Summer Barney 2026.
From its beginnings in the heart of Watford to now offering a wide range of support to some of the most vulnerable across Herts, Beds, Bucks and beyond, One YMCA is proud of the many thousands of people the charity helps each year as it celebrates its 140th Anniversary.
Through providing a wide range of support services they are able to pool the experience of our highly skilled frontline colleagues to help those in need throughout our communities to belong, contribute and thrive.
They give support to those experiencing:
- Homelessness
- Domestic abuse and sexual violence
- Poor mental health
- Financial challenges
Last year One YMCA supported 1,276 individuals to escape rough sleeping and avoid homelessness by providing 218,228 nights of safe and secure housing and specialist support.
They also run other similar charities like Heaven First based in Stevenage, which operates across Letchworth, Baldock and Hitchin.
End of Summer Barney will happily be donating some of its profits to there great cause.
